In Africa, the woman is esteemed highly. That is why marrying her requires something known as ‘bride price.’ It is given to her family, by the prospective husband; in form of gifts, an amount of money, or a number of livestock.

.
However, this is not the “measure” of her value, it is merely a “symbol” or sign of respect.
She is regarded as; a mediator, divine passage, or a “portal”, that transports new life from the spirit to the material world.
.
A woman’s womb, is regarded as the most sacred place on Earth. It is the vessel where human lifeform is conceived and shaped.
.
The man is considered as the seed of life, while the woman is considered as the portal of life. A man alone can have a house. But with a woman, together they make a home.
